MATERNITY

People who enjoy listening good music from Colombia have to look up to Andrea Echeverry. She joined a band called Aterciopelados as a singer, at least 10 years ago. This band had been reached quickly high positions in the top ten Latin America rankings, when they were doing music actually they keep with the band.
Many years ago, Andrea have left the band for a short period because she was pregnant and fortunately she decided to make an album in solo. She could find the best way to express herself about maternity, writing, and creating good melodies to describe her interior. There are probably 10 songs. The contents of the songs are extremely cute but at the same time bring stronger images. When she sings for example, “you circled on my, opening a way, a divine way or, you have given to me a creation breath…” it’s impossible to be abstracted about the images that she is able to transmit; there are many sentences that would be inspiring people to do something about the theme. I didn’t realize at these moment how extremely strong the maternity is.
By my side Andrea Echeverry inspired me to do an exhibition about it. In the beginning I thought thy painting about maternity could result little superficial , but just in these moments I had delivered my little baby girl, and I painted while I had been breast-feeding. The Exhibition was great, inspired totally by Andrea Echeverry and Sofia, my little daughter.
